This year’s KC Council 4372 scholarship recipient is Ms. Cassandra Clair. Cassie is the daughter of Brad and Trina Clair from New Berlin. Cassie graduated at the top of her class with an overall GPA of 4.00. She participated in numerous extracurricular and community activities. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Drama Club, Art Club, Yearbook Committee, and Students Against Destructive Decisions. She has also been recognized as an Illinois State Scholar for academic achievement.
She served the community by volunteering with the Girls on the Run Program, tutoring high school students, and coaching the junior high speech competition. She is also actively involved with her church, volunteering to lead with the youth group, helping with Sunday school lessons, and vacation bible school. She has attended several mission trips in the United States and around the world to assist others in need. She is also an active member with the American Heritage Girls organization.
Cassie plans to study American Sign Language and Interpreting at Eastern Kentucky University beginning this fall.
